Katie Taylor will make her return to the ring on the 29th of October at the Wembley Arena in London to face Argentinian boxer Karen Elizabeth ‘La Burbuja’ Carabajal.

According to Boxingscene.com, Carabajal will be the next contender to Taylor’s Undisputed Lightweight Crown.

The 32-year-old has a 19-0 record, with two knockout victories. The bout with Taylor will be her first fight outside of Argentina, and her first title fight as a professional.

Carabajal fights mostly as a junior lightweight but has previously competed at 135 pounds. Her last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Lorena Edith Agoutborde at 130 pounds.

'La Burbuja' is ranked 9th in the world in the lightweight division.

Taylor is coming off the biggest win in her career so far, when she claimed a split decision victory over seven-division champion Amanda Serrano, in arguably the biggest fight in women’s boxing history in front of a sold out Madison Square Garden.

There was some debate and discussion as to what the next move was going to be for Taylor, with calls for an immediate rematch against Serrano given the enormous interest in their fight, but that seems to be put aside for the time being.

This will be the seventh defence of her undisputed championship, and her fourteenth defence of at least one lightweight title, going back as far as 2017. The timing of this fight will be on the fifth anniversary of her WBA lightweight title win over Anahi Ester Sanchez, which was on the Anthony Joshua- Carlos Takam undercard in Cardiff.

There had been discussions about a possible clash with former UFC Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm, and current Bellator Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg, who is scheduled to make her boxing debut on Sunday week.

Speaking on Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour, Eddie Hearn said this clash could happen in the future.

“She won't be fighting her on October 29th, but that could be one for the end of the year or very early next year, we are still talking about the Amanda Serrano rematch as well.

The legend shall return on October 29th in London.”
