Get ready to start having to learn about cricket again because Ireland have this morning defeated the West Indies at the Cricket World Cup. After doing it against England in Bangalore in 2011 it was John Mooney once again to gain the decisive runs with this moment that seemed like it might never come after a wonderful batting performance from Paul Stirling, Ed Joyce and Niall O'Brien. This is the third time that Ireland have defeated a test nation at the World Cup following famous wins over Pakistan and England.

If Stirling, Joyce and O'Brien were the heroes with the bat it was George Dokrell who led the charge with the ball. Despite that, a strong finish from the West Indies with the bat left Ireland with 305 runs to win.

A wonderful performance followed and although it began to look nervy near the end, Ireland were always in control and next up is the UAE in the early morning of the 25th February.
