Australian cricket star Shane Warne has passed away today at the age of 52 after a suspected heart attack in Thailand on Friday. The former Australia captain is considered one of the greatest bowlers of all time. He had an esteemed career for the Australian cricket team that spanned from 1992-2007. He is one of only two players ever to take over 1,000 wickets in international cricket and is a ICC Hall of Fame inductee.
His management released a statement this morning saying:
It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand today, Friday 4 March,
Shane was found unresponsive in his Villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.
The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.
Just this morning, he tweeted his condolences to Aussie cricket legend Rod Marsh.
Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate❤️

The game of cricket has lost what I consider a university of leg-spin bowling today. I was inspired by his bowling from the start of my career and it was always a privilege to play against him. My deepest condolences are with Warne's family and loved ones.
Former India cricket captain Kris Srikkanth added: "Shocking to hear the demise of Shane Warne ! He was one of the greatest wrist spinners to ever grace the game! My heartfelt condolences to his family , friends and fans from across the world! May his soul rest in peace."
He had many memorable moments throughout his career and one of them has to be when he took a wicket with his first ball in his first game in England.
