Lance Armstrong has found himself embroiled in yet another controversy.

The 43-year-old he has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and for hitting two parked cars according to The Aspen Daily News.

However he had his girlfriend, Anna Hansen, who had been a passenger in the car, cover for him. Hansen claimed she lost control and hit the cars before driving home. She then returned to the scene and spoke to one of the owners, offering to pay for damages.

The owner of the damaged car spoke to the Aspen Daily News.

A woman, well-dressed, 30ish, blond … came running around the corner in her high heels in 6 inches of packed snow, which was pretty impressive; she ran directly to us and said, ‘We’re so sorry, we came around the corner and slipped on the ice, and we hit your cars.’

Unluckily for the pair, the valet who returned the car to the pair told police he has escorted Hansen into the passenger seat and thus their story was foiled. Hansen changed her story for the police on hearing this. Armstrong will face court on St. Patrick's day and faces a fine and up to 90 days in jail.
