Bennett, riding for the An Post-Chain Reaction team, was part of an elite 15 man grup to finish in the leading peletion along with the likes of Irish star Dan Martin, Nairo Quintanta (winner of the King of the Mountains and Young Riders' classifications in this year's Tour de France) and Bradley Wiggins (2012 Tour de France champion).  Wiggins leads the race overall.

It has been some week for Bennett as yesterday he was named on the Irish team for the World Championships.
