In one of the biggest shocks of this year's PDC Darts World Championships, Jim Williams has defeated James Wade 3-2 in the second round.

The Welshman came back from a set down to defeat the four time semi-finalist in incredible scenes at Alexandra palace.

While James Wade played far from his best darts, take nothing away from Jim Williams, who dug deep in the deciding set to knock out the number eight seed from the competition.

I felt alright. The first set against Joe Cullen last year I come out flying. This year, I lost the first set again and terrible, it's two completely different situations.

Joe kind of flipped a switch and was a lot better than I was. James kind of stayed at the same level today. I just needed to up my level a little bit. It was a tough game, I think it was tough for James as well.

He's fantastic. I was kind of surprised by his scoring, he didn't score nowhere near what he could. You kind of try perhaps a little but too hard to get on top of him, and it wasn't happening, I just dragged it out in the end."

After Wade claimed the first set, very few people would have predicted an upset. However, Jim Williams brought his game up a notch in the second set with a quality 119 finish to claim the set. Wade looked shocked, as he could only manage two scores above 140.

Williams brought the momentum into the third set as he flew through to go 2-1 up in the game and was a set away from sealing the biggest victory of his career.

Wade showed all his experience to win the fourth set 3-0 with his best darts of the night to set up a deciding fifth. Williams wasn't to be denied , as he sealed a memorable victory to win the deciding set 3-1.
