Keane Barry was knocked of the World Darts Championship this evening, after losing in straight sets to the three-time champion and one of the all-time greats, Michael van Gerwen.

Although the history books will say 3-0 to the Dutchman, Barry was not without his chances and he scored well to throughout the match, averaging 95.81.

However, his double hitting was extremely poor, missing 14/16 for a 12.5 checkout percentage.

Van Gerwen, on the other hand, was ruthless, hitting 64.29% of is doubles, with a game high finish of 167.

In terms of positives for the Meathman, he did hit three 180s to Van Gerwen's two.

“I’m a little disappointed with my scoring, the most important thing is I won my first game," Van Gerwen said after.
