Luke Littler continued his remarkable start to life as a professional darts player last night, with the 17-year old emerging victorious on his European Tour debut by winning the the Belgian Open.

The recent world finalist was in stunning form throughout the weekend, something that continued right into last night's final against Rob Cross.

Littler would win 8-7 in the decider, even hitting a nine-darter in the 11th leg of the match. It was third nine-dart finish on the tour so far this year.

While Rob Cross was full of praise for his opponent after last night's final, the man Luke Littler beat in the semi-final was a bit less impressed with the youngster.

Darts: Luke Littler baffled by opponent reaction after semi-final

Luke Littler would defeat Ricardo Pietreczko in the semi-final of the Belgian Open, running out as a relatively comfortable 7-3 winner.

However, his German opponent was clearly unhappy with some of Littler's play during the game, exchanging a few words with him on stage after he hit the winning double. The Englishman certainly seemed taken aback by Pietreczko's reaction.

While it was unclear why Pietreczko was so upset, we were soon given a better insight into the incident by the two players on social media.

The losing semi-finalist would take to Instagram soon after the match to call out his opponent's 'arrogance' on the night.

Luke Littler himself would soon admit that he was still confused as to why Pietreczko has reacted in the manner he did after the match.

Ricardo Pietreczko has garnered a reputation for being somewhat of a sore loser during his time on the tour, a tag that is unlikely to be shaken after this latest outburst.

Some have speculated that he was unhappy with Littler attempting to check out 147 by hitting both a double-20 and bull during the match, although this has yet to be confirmed.

In any case, darts' brightest rising star is unlikely to lose too much sleep over this incident after securing yet another title during his debut season on the tour.
