He's said it before and even thinks we're sick of hearing him talk about it but Damien Duff has once again signalled his intention to play in the League of Ireland.

The former Ireland international made a Skype appearance on Soccer Republic on Monday night for a chat with Tony O'Donoghue. He was calling from Australia where he is currently contracted to A-League side Melbourne City.

Asked by O'Donoghue if he felt the lure of the MLS due to the presence of Robbie Keane and Sean St. Ledger and the possible move of Kevin Doyle to Colorado Rapids, Duff left no doubt about his next destination.

I think the only flight I'll be taking now is back home to Dublin. I've enjoyed my time here in Australia but I think Ireland will be my next port of call.

The winger sustained a season-ending double injury last month during a game against Wellington Phoenix so his single season in the A-League concluded early. He said that it is still his ambition to finish his playing career in the League of Ireland.

People are probably sick of me saying that but yeah I'll be home now in the summer, end of April, early May. I'll be home for good then so I'll be looking for a job. That's the plan.
