In the last week, Newcastle United have been in disarray. Roundly beaten by Leicester City 3-0 in a woeful performance. This prompted the manager to go public with his disappointment with his players, only to receive a unwavering response from those criticised. Then it was revealed that Carver is considering stripping his club captain of his leadership duties after he was involved in a heated row with Tim Krul.
That's just the cherry on the top of the cake that is Newcastle's recent form. Eight losses in a row have seen Newcastle get pulled back into the relegation dogfight with just three games to go, and two points to spare.
This doesn't dampen the spirits of their manager John Carver though. After taking over at the end of January, Carver's reign as boss of Newcastle hasn't been a happy one. That hasn't dented his confidence though, and he claims that he is:
The best coach in the Premier League.

John Carver. A manager for four months. Better than Jose Mourinho. Than Louis van Gaal. Than Arsene Wenger. Than Alan Pardew. Than Mauricio Pochettino. Than Brendan Rodgers. Than Tim Sherwood. Than Ronald Koeman. Than Manuel Pellegrini. I could go on.
This is amid reports that Newcastle have asked, and been rejected by Derby's Steve McClaren to take charge of Newcastle's final three games.
Carver was confronted by supporters after their loss to Swansea, and arranged to meet two of the fans for "a cup of tea".
It doesn't sound like the work of the "best coach in the premier league".
