James McClean has revealed his plans to release his personal memoirs.

The midfielder made the revelation during a post-training interview while on camp with the Irish squad at Gannon Park. McClean was asked his opinion on the new Roy Keane autobiography and after dodging the question, he brought up that he was planning on penning his own book.

That’s Roy’s business. I’ve actually started one myself; I’m in the early stages.

The Derry man confirmed that he was indeed not taking the mickey and that he was deadly serious about the book. However, he admitted that the book probably won't be to everyone's taste.

Marmite, you’ll either like it or hate it!

Ireland manager Martin O'Neill seemed genuinely shocked that McClean had begun writing his biography. O'Neill was skeptical that a 25-year-old had enough life experience to release a book about their life.

Hmm. I thought you wrote an autobiography when you’d done something. Hmm. No, he’s only a kid isn’t he? Hmm. Well, good luck to him.
