CSKA Moscow caused the biggest upset of the Champions League action on Tuesday night as they beat Real Madrid 1-0.

On loan Everton striker Nikola Vlašić got the goal after just 65 seconds following some sloppy play from the reigning champions.

The game would finish as Real's third consecutive game without a goal. It's more than a decade since that last happened.

Despite have 70 per cent possession, the Spanish side were unable to break down their Russian opponents.

In the fifth minute of injury time at the end of the game, CSKA were reduced to ten when goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was sent-off. It came in unusual circumstances.

Akinfeev was booked twice in the space of ten seconds, both times for dissent, as he lost his cool with the referee and also his place in the action.
