An Awful Lot Of People Are Having Fun With This Less Than Ideal Liverpool Stat

It was a bad night for Liverpool. Hull went ahead at the KC Stadium and then proceeded to swat away an incredibly limp Liverpool attack with barely any effort needed. Brendan Rodgers is beginning to seem more like a man on borrowed time.

To put a bit more pressure on the Liverpool manager, a rather embarrassing stat has emerged courtesy of football journalist Richard Jolly. Everton's back four has scored more goals this season than Liverpool's four recognised strikers.

Seamus Coleman (3), Leighton Baines (2), Phil Jagielka (3) and John Stones (1) have grabbed nine goals in total in a less than ideal season for the Toffees, but that's still one more than Liverpool's strikers.

We can only assume that the two thousand or so people who have retweeted that share the sentiment that it is not exactly an ideal situation for those in Anfield.

Daniel Sturridge (4), Rickie Lambert (2), Mario Balotelli (1) and Fabio Borini (1) have woefully failed to deliver in a year that promised so much at the start of the season. As we've said before, stats do go around now and again that appear to show something but, in reality, they just divert from what is really going on.

It's difficult to claim that in this situation. Liverpool's attack has been woeful, no surprise there but that stat really does sum up just how embarrassing a season they have had following the departure of you know who.
