An Indonesian 'Visionary' Is Predicting An Ireland Euro 2016 Win In Bizarre Video

You may by now by familiar with the work of Dwi Santos, the Indonesian seer and visionary who predicted that Ireland would win Euro 2012.

Whatever Dwi's deficiencies as a seer, you can't fail to be bowled over by his sheer tenacity.

Unbowed by the fate of his last youtube prediction - which was four years ago, as a seer, one could not exactly call him prolific - he is back and is predicting that Ireland will win the Euros this year.

'I was the one who predicted that Ireland to be Euro 2012 champion', he began.

'But it didn't happen', he added - as emphatically true a statement as has ever been uttered.

This was because he 'misread the green colour I saw for 2012'. For 2016, by contrast, he saw the colour 'orange'.

Naturally he assumed that it was the Dutch's to lose this time. However, they haven't even qualified. What now? Dwi did the only thing a rational person could do and examined the flags of all the competing nations to determine which one boasted the most orange in it.

And lo, we come back to Ireland.

The logic is unignorable. It's clear now that Ireland are destined to win Euro 2016.

Oddly, in the video's intro, he quite unashamedly bills himself as the man who predicted Ireland would win Euro 2012. Not, one would have thought, a solid grounding on which to promote oneself as a visionary.

He purports to have predicted that Greece would win Euro 2004, though the only evidence for this appears to be him stating as much in interviews in 2012 and at the end of 2015.

He adds that he almost predicted the winner of Euro 2008, something he evidently regards as a feather in his cap as a 'visionary', despite the fact that the tournament was won by the roaring favourites.

In fact, he has uploaded only four youtube videos, two of which involve him predicting that Ireland would win European championships, the last one and this one.

For what it's worth, the remaining two videos are essentially the same video, exploring the work of the Dilemmatic charity in Indonesia, the only difference being that one comes accompanied with English subtitles.

(To be fair to Dwi, it should be pointed out that youtube wasn't around when Greece won the Euros.)

Not only this, but the process by which he arrives at his predictions remains frustratingly opaque. For one thing, he does not outline, at any stage, where it is he is 'seeing' these colours.

Considering that the colours he's been seeing in advance of the past two European championships have been green and orange, it is tempting to conclude that he's been misreading traffic lights as visionary hallucinations.

One wonders does Dwi get a kick out of his audacious pitches for notoriety in Ireland. In 2012, he was even interviewed by Pog Mo Gol, following his Euro 2012 prediction.

He finished a stirring and suspiciously well-informed note, pointing out why he's feeling much more confident this time around, highlighting Ireland's 'optimistic' new manager and citing the example of Greece in 2004.

Although, it should be noted that he alluded to Greece heavily in his 2012 prediction also.

He addressed those people who contend that it is 'impossible' that Ireland could win the Euros by quoting the Greek goddess Nike.
