Cork man Peter O'Leary is a life-long Liverpool fan, renowned for his unwavering - and according to those close to him, occasionally bordering on delusional - loyalty towards the Merseyside men.

We'll have to take their word for it.

Peter's holiday to Portugal took a 'one-for-the-grandchildren'-worthy twist on Wednesday night, when he and his friends bumped into some rather familiar faces and caused an unsavoury scene.

Absolute tales.

To be fair to Stevie G (we'll say it before someone else does), he has never looked overly comfortable on a wet surface...

Peter's dream picture with his childhood (and let's face it, adulthood) icon was to slip away, and while the schoolyard bully-like taunts about not being able to 'hold his drink' will carry on for decades yet, he did clink glasses with some legitimate Liverpool legends.

The guy is usually so cool he even managed to make Gary McAllister and Jamie Carragher look like a pair of unidentified fans.

Are those matching watches?

Cheers to Peter for being a good sport about such a delicate and soul-destroying incident.

Next year is your year, buddy.
