Manchester United squad player Andreas Pereira may be used as leverage in hope of signing Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.

Pereira, whose contract at Old Trafford runs out this summer, has made nine appearances for the club this season with six of those coming in the Premier League.

He has been linked with a number of clubs, including Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Valencia.

Florence newspaper La Nazione reported on Monday that Fiorentina are looking to sign the midfielder.

It's said that Man Utd may be attempting to push the 23-year-old's move to Serie A in hope of gaining favour with Fiorentina as they look to sign Milenkovic.

The 21-year-old Serb has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this week. £45 million has been the fee mentioned for the centre-back who started all three of Serbia's games at last summer's World Cup.

Milenkovic is in his second season at Fiorentina after moving from Partizan in the summer of 2017.
