Anthony Martial's Agent Has Fired Back At Arsene Wenger's Recent Claims

It has become somewhat of an internet meme any time a young player scores a goal for someone to claim that Arsene Wenger could have signed him, mainly because that is something that Wenger has said about most of the World's best players.

Funnily enough, Wenger also recently claimed that he was looking at Anthony Martial, but decided against making a move because he thought the young Frenchman was a winger. Although Wenger passing up the opportunity to sign a young French attacker seemed strange to us, that's what the Arsenal boss said, but the agent of Anthony Martial was not impressed by those comments.

Philippe Lamboley, who represents Martial, wasn't buying any of it, and after making it very clear that Martial is not a winger, he couldn't resist a little jibe at Wenger.

Anthony is a true modern centre-forward who can play a part.

I am surprised by the analysis of Arsene Wenger, who has apparently been following him since he was a teenager. If the analysis Arsene Wenger has made is in order to justify not having signed Anthony, I accept he is a winger.

But in football, there are those who follow players and those who buy them.

He's basically saying "Whatever helps you sleep at night Arsene".

Manchester United fans are still struggling to believe how effective Anthony Martial has been since all the fuss was made over his signing, and will be hoping that his form continues so that more managers are asked why they didn't sign him.
