It appears that Louis Van Gaal will be dipping into the transfer market for a striker after all. After telling Javier Hernandez that he is free to leave the club, and apparently giving up on Sadio Mane, Van Gaal has set his sights on a French teenager.
Monaco's 19-year-old striker Anthony Martial is the name that Manchester United fans will be googling in the coming days to figure out if the teenager is any good. Judging by the figure quoted in the French press - £36.3 million or 50 million euros- he ought to be a bloody beast.
French paper RMC claim that Van Gaal wants to sign the young Anthony Martial, who was given his first call up to the French senior team this week.
Anthony Martial has a high goal rate of one in three in his short career, earning 19 starts in Ligue 1 last season scoring nine goals. Anthony Martial has played 36 times in his career for Lyon and Monaco, scoring 12 goals.
