Times have been tough in Glasgow for Republic of Ireland international Anthony Stokes. The club handed him down a two week ban after a twitter outburst from Stokes, and the signs seemed to hint that the forward was nearing the end of his time at Parkhead.

Deila spoke about Stokes yesterday, and revealed that Stokes wasn't just banned for his twitter rant - but for a range of undisclosed reasons.

There have been some issues in the past and we felt we had to put down a marker. I think that's going to be good in the end for us and Anthony as well. After 14 days he will come back and hopefully we can keep him working.

If Deila is saying that he wants to keep working with Anthony, does that mean that Stokes has a future at the Glasgow club?

Anthony has a future here. Of course, there are things that need to improve. If he makes the improvement that we want, everything is possible. If he didn't have any ability, he wouldn't be here. He's a goalscorer and a great player.

There had been a hint that Stokes was looking to move away from the club in January with 18 months left on his contract. Whether Stokes can do enough to prove to Deila to add to his two appearances this season, and attempt to force Martin O'Neill's hand ahead of Euro 2016.
