Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte did not hold back when giving his opinion about Richarlison's weird comments on his season.

The Brazilian forward said yesterday that he didn't know why he was on the bench in their important Champions League game against AC Milan on Wednesday, questioning Conte's decision making. He also rather humorously added that his season "has been shit" this year.

The Spurs forward does not understand this lack of match time despite his good performances  recently against West Ham and Chelsea.

Antonio Conte's Reaction To Richarlison's Interview

The Spurs coach has given his thoughts on those comments made by Richarlison, after facing the media ahead of their league fixture against Nottingham Forest.

Conte bit back and agreed with his player, stating that Richarlison has not have a good season with the club:

He said my season is shit and he is right because his season is no good. Because he had a lot of injuries. He started well with us, he then had injury in the Champions League. Then he went to World Cup and he had another serious injury. He came back and stayed one month out. Then another injury.

The Italian manager has admitted that despite Richarlison's injury problems, his performances have been poor. Richarlison has failed to score a single goal in the league with his new club this year. However, Conte said that the Brazilian player was very honest about recognising that his season has been bad:

He scored zero goals with us, only two goals in the Champions League. I think the guy was really honest to tell that his season is not good.

Nonetheless, Conte would go on to implore Richarlison to seek for an improvement in his forward play in the remainder of the season - though criticising his single-minded attitude:

His season and our season has still not finished and he has time to recover. If he deserves to play, I give him opportunity otherwise we will play another player.

Then if you ask me for rest of interview I think that the guy understood very well that he made mistake. Because when you speak with ‘I, I and I’, not with us, it means you are thinking only about yourself and you are selfish.

Conte has confirmed that his striker has apologised for the bizarre interview he gave after Tottenham's elimination of the Champions League.
