Ireland underage international Armstrong Oko-Flex has joined Swansea on loan from West Ham for the 2022/23 season.

The 20-year-old Oko-Flex moved from Celtic to West Ham last summer. He scored 12 goals in 22 appearances for the club's U23 team in Premier League 2 last season.

The winger made his first team debut for West Ham in the 3-0 Europa Conference League qualification playoff win against Viborg FF last Thursday. Dublin-born Oko-Flex came off the bench with 10 minutes to play.

Swansea manager Russell Martin is excited about what Oko-Flex can do for his team.

"We also have Armstrong Oko-Flex in the building, he’s currently doing his medical. He’s someone completely different to anything we’ve got in the building," Martin told WalesOnline.

"He's a wide player who really likes to get at people. Fortunately for us, we’ve had people at both clubs who have recognised there might be an opportunity here for young players, because our situation financially hasn’t changed.

"We’re really lucky that, because of our style of play, the opportunities young players get here are probably more than most places, so we’re really fortunate that people at both clubs [Wolves and West Ham] recognise this is a good place for both young players to play."

Oko-Flex joins in time to be in contention to feature for Swansea in Wednesday's game against Stoke. The Welsh club are currently third from bottom of the Championship with five points from six games.
