Arsenal Fans Despair As Tony Adams Makes Laughable Claim About Wilshere And Ozil

The fact that Tony Adams has a book out shouldn't necessarily be used a stick to beat him with with regards to his outspokenness; he's always been outspoken, but is just speaking a lot more recently.

And based on his fiery recent words about his relationship with Arsene Wenger alone, Sober should make for an extremely interesting read.

By the same token, there are only so many contrarianisms a man can use before jumping the shark, and Adams is now in danger of gaining parody status as his assault against his former club continues apace.

Speaking to the Evening Standard last night, Adams claimed Arsenal should never have signed Mesut Ozil when they had Jack Wilshere in their ranks, maintaining that Wilshere is just as good as the German:

It was an insult to buy Mesut Ozil when we’ve got Jack Wilshere there, who is every bit as good.

If I’d been Jack I’d have knocked on Arsene’s door and said ‘why the hell are you spending £40m on this player when I can do it just as well’.

A lot of fans have questioned Ozil and his desire to win. When you’ve got a player and you’re giving them lots of money they have to contribute.

As Jesus presumably wept, Arsenal fans reacted incredulously to Adams' claim. Some went as far as delving into the stats to prove Adams argument was indeed a non-argument, while others hesitantly alluded to the fact that a club legend had essentially nuked the fridge as far as his analysis is concerned.
