Football fans all over the World were licking their lips at the prospect of Liverpool's trip to The Emriates Stadium on THE Monday Night Football (they really do insist you say the 'The' over at Sky), and it's sometimes easy to forget that professional footballers are fans too.

Twitter is great for live stats, reactions and of course gifs, but if you look carefully you'll see pros watching their peers and giving their own, normally very safe, opinion on things.

We've decided to pick the best tweets that tell the story of tonight's game, and here they are:
