Arsene Wenger believes that Jamie Vardy, the man standing between Arsenal and the Premier League summit, is worth 30 million pound.

Top of the league, 15 league goals and a Premier League record for most consecutive games with a goal; Jamie Vardy is having an incredible season by anyone's standards. Few are as immediately effected as Wenger's Arsenal who sit second in the league, primarily due to the goalscoring antics of Jamie Vardy. As such, Wenger believes his accomplishments are worthy of a hefty price-tag.

Yes he is worth £30m, because he is the best goal-scorer in the league. You have many players under him who have been paid much more, and who don’t score that number of goals. Without a doubt, he is worth that money today.

Vardy only cost £1m when he signed for Leicester from lowly Fleetwood Town back in 2012 so it's incredible to think that just a few years later he could achieve such a massive leap in value. As Wenger points out though, £30m isn't a huge amount of money to pay for a player any more.

If you put that in the context of the financial power today of the top clubs, £30m is not that massive for a striker. Just compare it to Anthony Martial.

Vardy's Leicester travel to Anfield this afternoon with Arsenal potential beneficiaries and table toppers should they beat Southampton tonight and Leicester fail to win.
