Obviously, the throwing of bottles by fans at players is gobshite behaviour and is not to be condoned.

That said, this is weirdly entertaining. Barcelona beat the artist formerly known as Gary Neville's Valencia yesterday in the kind of helter-skelter, mean-spirited tempestuous affair the Premier League likes to think it has the copyright on.

Barca secured their 3-2 win with a last-minute penalty by Lionel Messi, after Barca had seen Andrés Iniesta leave with a serious-looking knee injury (now, not as bad as first feared, and Iniesta should be back in eight weeks or so) and had opened the scoring with Luis Suarez looking suspiciously offside:

Then, Barca secured the victory in stoppage time, and they elected to share the love in front of the Valencia fans. The opposing supporters responded by chucking a plastic bottle in ire. It landed among the Barca players, and sent many of them careering to the ground. The slow-mo version is below, and safe as we are in the knowledge that nobody was hurt, it's rather entertaining:

Neymar took it the most dramatically, although nobody does melodrama quite like Luis Suarez.

The subplot in the above, of course, is whoever the hell that Geordie commentator is. We'd never heard the line 'Leo Messi could sell chewing gum to someone with lockjaw' before, but it sounds like it may be one of the writers of Alan Partridge.
