Barcelona Sack Victor Valdes After Reports Of Bust-Up
By Maurice Brosnan

Barcelona have sacked U19 head coach Victor Valdes after their former player was reportedly involved in a behind the scenes bust-up.

The former goalkeeper was only in the role for 90 days but is rumoured to have fallen out with the club's head of academy, Patrick Kluivert.

Barcelona confirmed the news in a statement on their website: “FC Barcelona has told Víctor Valdes that he is no longer the coach of Juvenil A and belonging to the club. Artiga Franc, until now coach of Juvenil B and in the Masia since 2010, becomes the coach of Juvenil A.”

Per Marca, the dispute centred around tactical decisions and the team's formation. The disagreement reached a tipping point last week and Valdes did not appear on the sideline for the U19s during their 2-1 win last Saturday.

The  37-year-old spent 14 years at the club as a player before returning last July.
