The summer of 2017 was one that Arsenal fans will quickly want to forget.

After weeks of uncertainty regarding the future of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, the had a disastrous start to the Premier League season leading to calls for 'Wenger Out' after just three games, and then all the mess that was 'Deadline Day' scooped in on top.

For the supporters, the most frustrating thing was the lack of certainty in terms of what the hell was happening. Two players were signed, but far more were sold and the club seemed reluctant to spend big to fix areas of the team that badly needed addressing.

Throughout the window David Ornstein of the BBC has earned the trust of Arsenal fans for his factual reporting in a sea of rumours and speculation, and now he has shared a review on the window where he outlines all he has been told about the club's plan for the window, and what things look like going forward.

Be warned, Arsenal fans, it's not the most reassuring.

The part about copying the model of Leicester is nothing short of alarming for a club the size of Arsenal.

Also, the idea that Hector Bellerin asked to leave the club and Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected a staggering £180,000 a week to move to Liverpool suggests a dressing room atmosphere that is not conducive to success.

If the club are not going to be able to compete in terms of transfer fees, then changes have to be made to the way they approach players as trying to sign Lemar for £92m after refusing to pay £52 would have cost them £40m that they wouldn't have had for the next window.

It's all a bit worrying, and you can understand why Arsenal fans are very worried about the club in general rather than just Wenger.
