So the results of our Airtricity competition are in, and after 12 stages of judging etc, we are please to announce that the winner.

Shay Given was chosen in all but two of the squads, one choosing Packie while Gerry Peyton obviously chose himself.

The back four positions were the area of most disagreement amongst our entries with people choosing from

Staunton, Irwin, McGrath, Moran, O'Leary, Dunne with the likes of Harte, Daish, Kernaghan and Kelly making it into other picks. But overall it was a Staunton, McGrath, Moran/Dunne/O'Leary, Irwin quandary.

In the middle, there was little or no erring from the quality foursome of Duff, Keane, Brady, Houghton. At the top of their game, that is a world beating midfield.

Up front it was a choice between Quinn/Doyle/Aldridge and Robbie Keane. Despite the fact Robbie scores his goals against weak teams, he seems an automatic choice for many.

The eventual winner was chosen by Karl Kennedy whom we hope is not the philandering GP from down under and infact a true Irish football fan. Honorable mentions go to the efforts of Steve Kelly and Colm R, while we thank the imposter who reminded us of the likes of Joe Lapira and Liam Daish. Feel free to pick apart our decision in the comments below.
