This afternoon could mark Harry Kane's final appearance in a Spurs shirt.
The English striker has made clear his desire to leave the club, with Tottenham seemingly further away than ever from competing for major honours. It remains to be seen if anyone can match what will be a massive asking price from Daniel Levy, but it is clear where the player's mind is at right now.
Few could begrudge him a move after the service he has given to the club, although it is notable just how positive the reaction to his transfer request has been. Very few have criticised Kane, something that wasn't the case for other players in recent years.
Speaking on Sky Sports, former Scotland striker Kris Boyd said he wasn't particularly impressed by the way Kane broke the news, during an interview with Garry Neville. He also was bemused by the reaction in the media in comparison to Paul Pogba doing something similar in 2019.

The big for me here is I don't like the way the whole thing has been conducted. Walking around a golf course as the England captain speaking wanting to move on, do this and that.
It leaves you open to speculation. I can understand when you dig deeper into it and look at what the likes of Modric, Berbatov, Carrick, even Sol Campbell, it's probably what they need to do to get out of Tottenham.
Harry Kane is an iconic figure for Tottenham and always will be for what he has done. There's nothing wrong with pulling Daniel Levy and saying 'I want to move on'. I think he would understand that...
I think he's narrowed his options down with the way he went about it. For me, I don't like the way an England captain conducted his business.
The other thing I'm going to touch on - he gets a lot of praise for saying 'I want to go and win trophies' and stuff like this.
Paul Pogba got absolutely slaughtered two years ago for saying he wanted to leave Manchester United, but Harry Kane is getting praised for saying he wants to leave Spurs? It doesn't make sense.
To be fair, Harry Kane has given a whole lot more to Spurs in comparison to Pogba at United. Still, it is an interesting contrast between the two cases.
