"It's All Over The Place"- Brian Kerr Has A Bone To Pick With FAI Fixture Makers

Brian Kerr is one of our absolute favourite people to hear talk about football.

The man knows his stuff, and receives glowing reports any time his name is brought up around players who previously played under him, so if he can't be involved in the Irish setup for seemingly no reason at all, at least we get to see him on TV regularly.

On Thursday night he was on Europa League duty for Eir Sport and Dundalk's trip to Israel to face Maccabi Tel Aviv. Sadly the result didn't go how we all wanted, but speaking after the match, Kerr was quick to point out that the Lillywhites had given a great account of themselves on such a big stage.

He also credited the club for "making light" of the fact that they played just one game at home in Europe, and claimed that they didn't get enough help from the fixture makers towards the end of the season.

It's been highly enjoyable to follow Dundalk in the Europa League, but focus will now turn to how the club can bounce back after what looks like the inevitable loss of two of their star players.. After some well-deserved celebrations, of course. The fact that they have managed to do so pretty much every year for the last three or four seasons would suggest that they can indeed cope.

Stephen Kenny, too, looks to have a decision to make on his future, but should he stay he will be hoping to go for four-in-a-row in the League of Ireland, and another crack at the Champions League group stages.
