While there may be no live Champions League football at the moment BT Sport have announced a tasty line-up of classic Champions League matches they'll be reliving this week across two different sets of programming.
On BT Sport 2 a new programme called Throwbacks will rexamine last year's Champions League and Europa League competitions every week, starting with the quarter-finals this week. On Tuesday night, Jake Humphrey and Rio Ferdinand will look back at Tottenham v Man City, while on Wednesday the pair will relive Man United v Barcelona. Meanwhile on Thursday, Matt Smith and Robbie Savage will cover Arsenal v Napoli from last season's Europa League quarter-finals.
Each night will also feature dicussions about the issues of the day, questions from social media and debate around some of the pundits' favourite moments and players from European competitions in the past.
Over on BT Sport 3 - and this is what caught our eye in particular - they'll be showing highlights of some of the classic European finals that have featured English clubs. The full line-up includes:
- Tuesday 7th April: AC Milan 3-3 Liverpool (2004/05)
- Wednesday 8th April: Bayern Munich 1-2 Man Utd (1998/99)
- Thursday 9th April: Bayern 1-1 Chelsea (2011/12)
- Friday 10th April: Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea + pens (2007/08)
It's a win-win for Liverpool and Man United fans really. They don't have to be reminded that they're actually already knocked out of/not even in this year's competition and they get to relive some of the glory days from years gone by.
