Galway United left Stradbrook with all three points against Cabinteely on Sunday afternoon. The promotion chasers galloped to a 2-0 half-time lead through goals from Robbie Williams and Marc Ludden.

Some light broke through for Cabinteely late in the game via some quick thinking from Luke Clucas.

After Cabinteely's Eoin Stokes accidentally slid into Tadhg Ryan's shin, the Galway keeper placed the ball on the ground only to then pick it up again.

Realising that this was an offence - the laws state that it will be an indirect free kick if the keeper "Touches the ball again with his hands after it has been released from his possession and has not touched any other player" - Clucas pulled the ball from Ryan's grasp.

Clucas then slid the ball across the box for Keith Dalton to roll the ball into the net.
