Jamie Carragher was on CBS punditry duty last night for his beloved Liverpool's humiliating defeat to Real Madrid. The former Red's priceless reactions have been doing the rounds on social media and are an absolute emotional rollercoaster to say the least. Football fans across the world have been brightening up their mornings basking in Carragher's despair.
Liverpool welcomed Real Madrid to Anfield last night for their Round of 16 Champions League encounter, in what was a high-scoring, seven-goal game. However, It was a night to forget for the Reds as any glimpse of Liverpool returning to form was cruelly squashed by Real. Despite opening the scoring and going two goals up in the first fifteen minutes, the evening quickly turned sour for Liverpool. By the time the game broke at halftime a Vinicius Junior two-goal brace had levelled everything up, and while people were expecting Klopp to inspire his men during the interval, nothing of the sort happened. Two more goals from Karim Benzema and another from Éder Militao all came unanswered with the game finishing 5-2 and a terrible Liverpool, looking stunned.
If nothing else positive came from the night, Jamie Carragher's emotional rollercoaster of reactions were certainly a highlight. Carragher's priceless reactions explain the game better than words ever could, with joy one moment to sheer despair the next. Take a look for yourselves because it's hard not to enjoy the comedy gold. They were put to music by @Rhys3r on Tiktok and fair to say this edit captures the mood perfectly.

Speaking after the game Carragher's anger was palpable. The former defender tore shreds through the Liverpool team and their inability to defend, describing the team as a 'shambles' and specifically firing back at Virgil Van Dijk who only a couple of months ago said Carragher wouldn't have had a spot in the current Liverpool team.
What makes me laugh, I’m not that bothered but Virgil Van Dijk said I wouldn’t get in that back four about two months ago, I think I’d take his place at the moment.
It was nonsense, absolute nonsense that Liverpool were back after the last two games.
It’s not acceptable watching this season.
