Celtic goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska was attacked in Glasgow night by a fellow Scottish Premiership player. The Polish international is said to have been out with his partner when the incident occurred on Ashton Lane in the west end of the city. The assailant, who has not been named for legal reasons, was questioned by police, along with two other top flight players, who were at the scene according to these pictures from STV.

Zaluska is said to have been punched while waiting for a taxi and, having followed his attacker down Ashton Lane, eye witnesses say he was punched again before falling and hitting his head, causing him to lose consciousness.

A statement from the Police Service of Scotland said that inquiries are ongoing, however, they did not confirm if any arrests had been made.

Police Scotland are investigating a report of an alleged assault on a 32-year-old male in Ashton Lane, in the west end of Glasgow, in the early hours of Monday morning. Police inquiries are ongoing, including the monitoring of CCTV.
