Celtic won the first Old Firm game of the season thanks to a stunning counter attacking goal.

Having been on top for the majority of the proceedings, Rodgers' men were quite wasteful, failing to convert a number of excellent opportunities.

Rangers were also lucky to keep 11 men on the pitch, with Allan McGregor lucky not to see red for kicking out at Kristoffer Ajer.

The goal just after the hour mark finally gave them the lead, with Olivier Ntcham providing the finishing touch.

In the build-up this game was billed as a real test for the Scottish champions, with Steven Gerrard's Rangers seemingly finally ready to provide them with the rival they have been lacking for the last number of years.

Judging by this game so far, it appears there is still quite a gap in quality between the two sides.
