It felt inevitable that Cristiano Ronaldo would make his mark tonight as Juventus took on Manchester United in the Champions League this evening, and this has proved to be the case, with the former United player scoring a stunning volley to break the deadlock at the Allianz Stadium.

The breakthrough came on 65 minutes, when Leonardo Bonucci lofted a ball from deep into the United box. As the ball dropped into the area the Portugese forward lashed his right leg at it, and powered a shot past De Gea's near post for his first CL goal of the season:
