Cristiano Ronaldo Is So Good That He's "Breaking" Football Manager

Cristiano Ronaldo has bagged 17 goals in 9 La Liga matches so far this season, but if you can somehow manage to sign him in Football Manager 2015, it's unlikely that you will see a similar return for his efforts.

It seems as though Ronaldo is currently playing at a standard that is deemed "too good" for Football Manager's match engine, which can't really facilitate players who average over a goal per game, in the interest in fairness and balance. This was confirmed by Sports Interactive's Miles Jacobsen who was interviewed prior to the release of Football Manager 2015, in which Jacobsen jokingly suggested that players in Spain are trying to break the game's match engine.

Spain just proves that football is bonkers with Ronaldo. What is it 14 goals in 8 games now? So yeah, Spain are basically trying to break our match engine, which has caused a few problems during testing. Because we like to get these things right and get them balanced.

It always seemed odd that the likes of Ronaldo and Messi never seemed to dominate the Ballon d'Or awards in the game the way they do in real life, instead the virtual versions of the likes of Erik Lamela and Julien Draxler always seem to clean up, so now we know that is because the game engine just can't facilitate "once in a generation" players like the aforementioned geniuses.
