Liverpool are sure to come away from the weekend's FA Cup tie against Manchester United with plenty of regrets.

Jurgen Klopp dominated normal time, bouncing back from Scott McTominay's early opener to take control of the game. They looked to be cruising to a 2-1 victory before Antony's late equaliser. They would then take the lead in extra-time via Harvey Elliott, only to give away two sloppy goals late on and lose 4-3.

While the FA Cup was not their main priority this season, the manner of the defeat will lead to some questions about the current Liverpool squad.

Eamon Dunphy says two Liverpool players are 'not good enough'

Jurgen Klopp has been heavily praised for the manner in which he overhauled the Liverpool squad last summer, essentially bringing in an entire new midfield on the back of the team's struggles in that position.

However, Eamon Dunphy believes that two of his recent signings are not up to the required standard.

Writing in the Irish Mirror, the former RTÉ pundit named Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo as two players who are 'not good enough' to play for Liverpool.

Yes, it is true that they have a lot of big players unavailable because of injury.

But it is equally as true that two of their starters (on Sunday), Szoboszlai and Endo, were not up to scratch...

This morning they will need to take a serious look at themselves and ask themselves why they allowed the tempo to slow in the second half, when a third goal was theirs to snatch.

They lost the midfield battle.

Szoboszlai should not have been on the team in the first place; nor Endo. Neither player is good enough to play for Liverpool.

Dunphy is certainly going against the grain with this opinion.

Wataru Endo has widely been regarded as one of the signings of the summer after arriving from Stuttgart for a fee of less than £20million, while Dominik Szoboszlai was also heavily praised earlier in the season before his recent injury issues.

Deeming both players as not good enough for Liverpool on the back of Sunday's game seems harsh.
