Fifa 16 is here.

As of 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 8th, the FIFA 16 Demo is available to download on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, and PS3. Here is everything you need to know about the demo, and whether it's worth your time. Some don't bother at all with demos and just wait for the full game, so we're here to tell why you should or shouldn't give the demo a spin.

What Can I Do On The Demo?

Kick Off: Play a 4 minute half game against the CPU or another player locally. Pretty self explanatory here.

Recommended

FUT Draft: Play 6 minute halfs of FIFA 16's exciting new gamemode, and build a fantasy draft team from all of the players in FIFA 16. You can only play one game per draft, but this is a very fun addition to the demo.

Women's Teams: Available in 'Kick Off' mode, you can use the US or German women's national teams.

Bronze Level Training Games: While waiting for the match to load you can play a selection of bronze level skill games.

FIFA 16 Demo Review:

Initial impressions after a few hours on the demo.

Gameplay Changes:
-Pace: The overall pace of the game is slower, which is a positive thing.
-Passing: It is far more difficult to pass the ball in FIFA 16, which again is a positive, as it was far too easy to just ping the ball around first-time. Interceptions are far more common, as the defenders can predict simple passes. Crossing has been overhauled and looks far more true to life, meaning you can swing in curving balls from deeper, rather than have to be in line with the attacker.
-Defending: Overall the defenders are much smarter in FIFA 16, and will cover space in a why that they have never done in previous games, tracking back is noticeably better, and the ability to instruct players to intercept aggressively or conservatively depending on your play-style is a nice touch.
-Shooting: The animations have been improved to make shooting look far more natural, that said, it can certainly be difficult to beat the keepers on the higher difficulty levels. The finesse shot seems very well balanced, and power shots have more dip and curve to them, depending on the player taking the shot. Heading feels very effective, but the new crossing means that it will be more difficult to consistently score from them.
-Goalkeeping: A big step forward has been made with the keepers, but they do still make the odd mistake. Positioning was a major problem that appears to have been improved, and there seems to be much more aggression in dealing with crosses, which was needed with the new crossing functionality.

Visuals:
-Menus: The menus are very bright. They will actually take some getting used to, but long term it will surely be more enjoyable than the dull menus of the past.
-Gameplay graphics: There has been a clear enhancement to the graphics for FIFA 16. The jerseys and player kit in particular look far better, and the celebrations you can trigger by running over to the cameraman are a very nice touch.

Overall Verdict:

This is the best FIFA demo ever. Very rarely do you get a chance to do anything other than a short-halfed quick Kick Off match, and then you usually only have eight or so teams to choose from, but this year EA Sports have decided to let us use 10 male teams, two female teams, and have opened up the FUT Draft mode which brings far more enjoyment to the demo.

If you like FIFA at all, you really need to download the FIFA 16 demo and try it out.
