Here's all the information you need to know about the World Cup draw, when it is, how does it work and what pot every team is in.

When is the 2022 World Cup draw?

The draw takes place today, Friday 1st April and it's set to start at 5pm Irish time.

How does the World Cup draw work?

The 32 teams will be divided into four pots and a group will be made up of one team from each pot.

No teams from the same confederation can be drawn in the same group except for Europe who can have a maximum of two teams in the same group.

As hosts, Qatar will be a seeded Pot A team and will be drawn into Group A.

Due to the ongoing situation in Ukraine, their play-off semi-final against Scotland was postponed until June. The winner of that match will then have to face Wales for the last UEFA spot at the World Cup.

In the first intercontinental play-off the winner of Australia vs UAE in June will play Peru for a spot at the World Cup.
