It's that time of the year again. The new iteration of FIFA is on the horizon. Every year EA bring out a new version of the most popular football video game in the world. They release trailers and release a bit of information to hype up the game, so here's all the information you need about FIFA 22 like when is the FIFA 22 release date and more.

When is the FIFA 22 Release date?

The game will be available on general release 1st October 2021.

If you purchase the ultimate edition you'll receive 4 days early access, being able to play the game from 27th September 2021.

For EA Play members there will be a time-limited early access from 22nd September 2021

Is there a FIFA 22 demo being released?

As of now EA haven't confirmed if there will be a demo version released. A demo is usually released around 3 weeks before release date so it could be available from Friday 17th September. However, last year EA didn't release a demo for FIFA 21 due to the pandemic delaying the game. EA could easily do the same this year.

Can I transfer the game over to next-gen consoles?

EA have announced that like last year FIFA 22 can be transferred over from old-gen consoles (Ps4/Xbox 1) to new-gen (Ps5/Xbox Series X) through EA's "Dual Entitlement" if you manage to get a next-gen console after buying FIFA 22. EA will do this for free for all players who have purchased the Ultimate edition of FIFA 22 while there will be a fee for players who purchase the standard edition.

What's new this year in FIFA 22?

With a game like FIFA that comes out every year it's always exciting to see changes being made. This year sees major developments to the game. Firstly in career mode, for the first time ever you can create a club. From the clubs badge to the stadium you will have full control on how your club looks and feels. EA have improved player career mode by adding more objectives for your player to reach. Also more animations have been added to make your career all that more realistic. If you order the Ultimate edition ahead of release date you will get a homegrown player for your manager career.

Secondly, EA have introduced heroes to Ultimate Team. These cards are like icons in the sense they are retired footballers but these are more fan favourite players. Former Ireland international Robbie Keane will be one along with a whole host of other players like David Ginola, Tim Cahill, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and more. Division rivals has also been revamped along with upgrades on stadium customisation. EA have also added some more features that will make playing the game less enraging.

Lastly, EA have made changes to the gameplay by adding Hypermotion technology. By using real football EA have improved the gaming experience with more realistic movements. The addition of new off-ball animations along with increased tactical AI will also make the game more realistic.

How much does it cost?

For next-gen (Ps5/Xbox Series X) the standard edition is available for €79.99

If you have an old-gen (Ps4/ Xbox 1) console the standard edition is priced at €69.99.

Both generations can get the ultimate edition for €99.99. With the ultimate edition you get 4 days early access, a FUT hero player item, ones to watch player item, 4600 Fifa points, team of the week 1 player, Kylian Mbappé loan item, FUT ambassador loan player pick and a career mode homegrown talent.
