Just when it looked like Spurs were on course for a top four finish, they go and drop a clanger at home to Brighton. Their performance in the 1-0 defeat yesterday was absolutely dreadful, sucking the life out of the momentum they had picked up in the race for a Champions League place.

The result certainly brought Arsenal and Manchester United back into the picture, even if the former would go on to lose to Southampton later in the day.

In contrast to the title race between Manchester City and Liverpool, it feels as though you cannot depend on any of those three aforementioned teams picking up point on a regular basis. It should make for an interesting few weeks ahead.

Spurs looked as though they had taken a major step towards that top four finish after last week's victory over Aston Villa, although Harry Kane's decision to jet off to The Masters in the aftermath of that fixture has now been questioned.

The England captain randomly showed up on Sky Sports' final round coverage of the event on Sunday, seemingly getting the club's permission to travel to the USA to take in the day's play.

Not all feel this was a good look for the striker, especially after yesterday's result.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Gabby Agbonlahor said that questions had to be asked of Harry Kane's decision to attend The Masters less than a week before Spurs' next Premier League fixture.

With Harry Kane for instance, I'm his biggest fan, but if you're flying out from the Aston Villa game to The Masters and doing that travelling and coming back, then putting in a performance like today, questions have to be asked of Harry Kane.

Was that the right thing to go and do? Today they were toothless going forward, they had no shots on target. Every time they seem to get a little bit of an edge against Arsenal and Manchester United, they throw it away.

The way he played today was like he was jet-lagged. It wasn't the Harry Kane we are used to seeing. Every time they seem to get a lead in this race for top four they keep letting Manchester United back into it, Arsenal as well.

As much as we keep looking at fixtures and what results are going to be, these teams feel like they can lose any game any week.

Kane obviously had the club's blessing to attend the event, although his decision to do so when there was only one week between fixtures did seem an odd one.

Spurs will be looking to get their top four chase back on track when they visit Brentford on Saturday.
