Gary Cahill Now Holds One Very Impressive Record Due To His Success Since He Left Bolton
By Mikey Traynor

Sometimes when a young English player leaves a smaller club to join one of the big boys in the Premier League, they can disappear from first team action and find their career has stagnated, such as Scott Sinclair at Man City.

Some feared that a similar fate would befall Gary Cahill when he left a Bolton side that would go on to be relegated, in order to join high flying Chelsea, but they turned out to be very, very wrong. Cahill is now an important first team player for both Chelsea and England, and he is now the proud owner of one very impressive record...

By winning the League Cup and Premier League title with Chelsea this season, Gary Cahill now holds the record for being the fastest player in Premier League history to win every major trophy with the same club.

He left Bolton in 2012, and he has since won it all. Everything. The FA Cup and Champions League in his first season, the Europa League in 2013, before completing the collection with the League Cup and Premier League this season.

Cahill expressed his surprise at the amount of success he has enjoyed since joining the blues to Chelsea's official website:

I never imagined it but I dreamed about it and hoped it would be possible.

I don’t think you sit there as a young boy thinking you want a full set of medals, you just want to achieve something.

In football you go from hurdle to hurdle, there’s always something to motivate you, always something you want to get. I’ve been here three-and-a-half years and to do it so quickly is amazing.

It certainly is an impressive record to hold, and while it's obviously not all down to himself, it's unique to find a player that has enjoyed as much success as Cahill has since moving to a big club.
