The BBC Have Given The Green Light To Gary Lineker's Nightmare

It's happening...

We are going to see Gary Lineker present Match Of The Day on the BBC in just his underpants next season, as the British Broadcasting Channel have give the 'OK' for the former England international to present the show in just his jocks.

It all started with a very regrettable tweet from Lineker in December, back in that funny old time when everyone thought that the Foxes were going to collapse at some stage or another...

That collapse never happened, and here we are now with Claudio Ranieri's men sitting three points away from a title win with three games to spare.

Leicester City will (almost certainly) win the league, and LeicesterMercury.co.uk have revealed by way of The Radio Times that a decision has been made regarding whether or not it would be acceptable for the host of MOTD to wear only a pair of underpants for the duration of the show:

BBC bosses have given Gary Lineker the thumbs-up to present Match of the Day in his underpants if Leicester win the Premier League, this week's Radio Times reveals.

The Foxes are just three points away from sealing one of the most unlikely title successes in English top flight history.

Lineker himself has been trying to come to terms with the idea, and explained that he will likely hit the gym hard in the weeks that precede the show:

The conversation's been had. I've told them many times, 'Please tell me I can't do it.'

When I sent the tweet in December I categorically knew there was zero chance that (Leicester) would win. I'm in good shape. For an old b*****d. I'll probably work out for the two weeks beforehand very, very hard.

It's going to be funny, for sure, but the novelty of Lineker debating a penalty decision with Alan Shearer in a pair of briefs is likely to wear off very quickly, leaving us with what we imagine will be a truly awkward moment in MOTD's history.
