DfB, the German football association have commissioned a documentary based on Germany's World Cup win in Brazil in July. Based on this trailer, it looks pretty good. Unfortunately for DfB, their research team wasn't the best. It's not often that Germans make a mistake
The trailer opens from a quote from Steven Gerrard.
Brazil have Neymar,
Argentina have Messi,
Portugal have Ronaldo.
Germany have a team.
Unfortunately for DfB and the makers of the film, but Steven Gerrard never made that quote. The quote which appears:
Brazil have Neymar. Argentina have Messi. Portugal have Ronaldo. Germany have a team!

As you can see, that tweet appears to come from a twitter account named "Steven Gerrard" and features a picture that you and I recognise to be THE Steven Gerrard that plays for Liverpool. But as you and I can deduce, this is a fan run account.
My tweet was quoted in the offical German DFB wodl cup movie as a real Steven Gerrard quote - https://t.co/0GfPSJmG98 pic.twitter.com/0bZhrejwBF

Woops. At least they can console themselves with the World Cup trophy while we all laugh at their lack of fact-checking. At least they realised their mistake before releasing the film as the quote only appears in the trailer, not in the film.
