With eight minutes on the clock in Burnley and Bournemouth's Premier League game at Turf Moor this afternoon, Burnley fans held a minute's applause in recognition of Harry Arter.

The Ireland international was playing the game on the first anniversary of the stillbirth of his daughter Renee.

The moment of recognition being held at that time in the game was a nod to Arter's shirt number.

During the game, Arter reciprocated the home fans' gesture.

He also thanked them after the match, which Burnley won 3-2.

Last year, just days following the personal tragedy for Arter and his partner Rachel, Arter put in a Man of the Match performance as Bournemouth beat Man Utd at Dean Court.

Arter told BBC during the week that today's game was going to be a strange experience.

It will be a strange sort of moment against Burnley. We see Renee's birthday as a milestone, which will be difficult. When it comes to the game, I'll be professional and put my head down and family matters will have to be pushed to one side to deal with after.
