This Is How Highly Louis Van Gaal Rated Roy Keane...

Roy Keane isn't collapsing under the weight of all the individual awards he won.

Though he did win both the PFA Player of the Year and the Football writer's Footballer of the Year award in 1999/00, he never made much of an impression in international awards ceremonies.

Not even in one of Keane's best years, 2001, was he required to rock up at UEFA and FIFA awards dos. He only attracted one vote for the World Player of the Year award that year.

And from whom did he secure that vote? Why, from Louis Van Gaal.

Its no surprise Van Gaal was the man to plump for Keano. He was the unfortunate man in the Dutch dugout the day Ireland ended Holland's hopes of qualifying for the 2002 World Cup.

He was clearly as besotted with that famous tackle on Overmars as everyone else was.

For all this, it looks like Keane will not be joining Van Gaal in the United dugout, should the Dutchman be handed the keys to the Carrington manager's office.
