It's been a difficult group stage campaign for Shamrock Rovers in the UEFA Conference League, with Stephen Bradley's men earning just one point from their opening three games. With a huge game at home to Molde this evening, the questions that remains on everyone's lips is, how can Shamrock Rovers Still Qualify for the knockout stages?

How Can Shamrock Rovers Still Qualify For The Knockout Stages?

Djurgarden are sitting top of Group F on seven points, with Molde and Gent both on four points and the Hoops on one point.

Djurgarden will all but guarantee a spot in the knockout stages if they beat Gent tonight. Should Shamrock Rovers find all three points against Molde tonight, it will put them level on points with Molde and Gent with two games remaining, but probably with an inferior goal difference.

That means in matchday five when Rovers face Gent, and Djugarden face Molde, if the Swedish side beat Molde and Shamrock Rovers find at least a point against Gent, Rovers will go into the final round with a chance of qualifying.

The Tallaght Stadium outfit will then need to find something away to Djurgarden in the final round of the group stage, but if all of these results pan out in favour of Shamrock Rovers, their opponents will already have secured top spot. That then gives a possibilty of Djurgarden resting players with top spot already sealed.

A loss tonight against Molde will take their chances of qualification out of their hands and likely end the dream of knockout European football coming to Tallaght.

Rovers will also be hoping for Djurgarden to defeat Gent tonight which will certainly blow open the second qualifying spot in the group.
