Via the BBC:

Bolton Wanderers doctor Jonathan Tobin says Fabrice Muamba was "in effect dead" for 78 minutes when the player's heart stopped beating at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Dr Tobin says Muamba was given 15 electric shocks to try to rouse him and describes how he broke down in tears when the enormity of the situation finally hit him.

78 minutes. 78. That's longer than an episode of The Wire. Longer than the duration of a GAA match, almost the duration of a rugby match. He's Bolton's Lazarus.
