Ola Adeyemo has had an interesting career so far. Born in England to Nigerian parents, he moved to Dublin with his family at the age of two. Having been part of the FAI's player development programme, he played for Stella Maris and St. Pat's before moving on to UCD.

An extended trial with Leyton Orient followed before he moved to Scotland and signed with Dundee United. Two appearances at Tannadice followed before he dropped down a couple of divisions to join East Fife. He's still just 21 but he's on the move again and this time he's heading for the Premier League.

After impressing on trial at Watford, the Premier League side have signed Adeyemo to a 15 month contract. He'll slot into the club's u21 setup having already appeared for Harry Kewell's side in recent weeks. Adeyemo has already been called up to the Nigerian u23 squad but he's still eligible to represent Ireland or England should it come to that.

Meanwhile, a player who many will have even higher hopes will represent Ireland at senior level in the coming years has sidestepped interest from the likes of Spurs and West Ham to sign a new contract at AFC Wimbledon.

Ireland u19 defender Ryan Sweeney has been widely linked with a switch to the Premier League having established himself in the senior setup of the League Two side this season. The 18 year old, who has been with Wimbledon since the age of eight, won his first Ireland U19 cap against Ukraine in October 2015.
